Transitional Colorado Assessment Program (TCAP)
Many Colorado parents and educators are familiar with the CSAP, the Colorado Student Assessment program. As schools transition their curricula to reflect the new Colorado Academic Standards, a transitional version of the state assessment called the Transitional Colorado Assessment Program (TCAP) has been adopted. The TCAP is similar to the CSAP in all respects, except that it no longer assesses many academic standards that are not part of the new, Colorado Academic Standards. For more information, click here.

Dear Parents,
Beginning December 8, 2011, your student was provided with an email account that is administered by St. Vrain Valley School District. We wanted to make sure you are aware of this exciting initiative and provide you with information about this project:
There are many reasons for offering this service for students, but the primary one is to increase opportunities for collaboration and conversation between students and their teachers.
Currently, many students create their own email accounts with companies outside of the district. SVVSD student email accounts provide the opportunity to promote adherence to our Responsible Use Policy (Board Policy EHC) while allowing access to digital communication tools.
Parents are always welcome to log in to their student's email account to see what they are experiencing and to talk about any concerns that they might have. The best way to keep children safe and help them learn to be responsible digital citizens is to help them learn those skills in practice.
Student email, like all other electronic tools provided by the district, is subject to the appropriate Board policy. You might wish to reference EHC-E2, St. Vrain’s Student Responsible Use Policy, as you speak with your child about this service.
Any inappropriate messages or actions should be brought to the attention of school administrators, similar to other communications and/or behavior problems. Administrators can contact District Technology Services if they require technical assistance while dealing with behavior. Any concerns or questions about student use of communication tools should begin with a conversation with school staff and administration.
We are excited for the possibilities email and increased communications opportunities provide our students. We look forward to continuing to help your student prepare for and be an engaged member of society in the 21st Century.
Sincerely,
Patty Quinones

Teachers and administrators will be communicating information to students, parents, and guardians regarding attendance, grades, report cards, transcripts, school activities, and other vital school information through Infinite Campus. The expectation is that students and parents will access Infinite Campus daily; as a result, fewer mailings will be sent home saving postage costs and the environment.
Parents/Guardians: if you have not yet registered to access the "Parent Portal", please bring a photo ID and stop by the Main Office so that we can assist you with this process.
