Skyline
High School Forensics / Debate
Forensics
is a highly competitive speaking organization. The
Skyline team is a member of the Colorado High School
Speech Association and the National Forensic League.
The forensics season begins in October and continues
into April. The highlight of the season is the national
tournament which is held in a different major city
every June.
Students
compete in nine different speaking events which include
interpretation of literature, debate and Student Congress.
Tournaments are held on Saturdays. The average tournament
consists of 20 - 40 schools from across Colorado and
Wyoming.
The
Skyline team has a reputation for excellence. Traditionally
Skyline has competitors at the State tournament and
at the National tournament. Skyline has had champions
at the state tournament, won the Outstanding Chapter
award in 2002, won many first place trophies at various
tournaments, and competed at Nationals.
