National
Art Honor Society
To
be able to qualify as a member of the National Art
Honor Society, a student needs to meet the following
requirements:
1) carry a 3.5 or higher GPA in fine arts
2) take a minimum of 3 Semesters of fine arts
3) attend and participate in at least 3/4 of the annual
art club meetings
4) preform at least 3 hours of community service
5) open to 10th, 11th and 12th grades
After
qualifiying for the membership, the student will be
honored at a ceremony with a NAHS pin, a letter and
a certificate. They are also entitiled to wear the
NAHS cord (rainbow colors) at graduation.
The
community service preformed has included face painting
for the health fair held in Sept. of every year, participating
in creating community or school murals, assisting
younger students from elementary or middle-schools
in artwork, and sometimes working in nursing homes
with the elderly.
